Central Asian Metropolitan Vikenty arrives in Kyrgyzstan for a week. Igor Dronov, Archpriest, the secretary of Bishkek diocesan administration of the Russian Orthodox Church, informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the head of Central Asian Metropolitan Circuit temporarily acts as ruling bishop of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan Diocese. “There will be a red carpet of Metropolitan Vikenty with churchmen at Holy Resurrection Cathedral this evening,” said Igor Dronov.
Let us remind the decision was made to form Central Asian Metropolitan Circuit at the meeting of Holy Synod taking place in Kiev. Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan Diocese isolated from the Central Asian that was established in the state borders of Kyrgyzstan. The Holy Synod also established Dushanbe Diocese in Tajikistan state borders.
Central Asian Metropolitan Circuit of Russian Orthodox Church unites Bishkek, Dushanbe and Tashkent Dioceses as well as the Patriarchal Diocese parishes of Russian Orthodox Church in Turkmenistan.
As 24.kg news agency reported before the Metropolitan Circuit is the canonical branch of Russian Orthodox Church was established to coordinate the religious education, publishing, social, educational and missionary dioceses located in the canonical territory of the circuit.
