Celebration of Saint Sava at the Faculty of Theology

The Saint Sava Academy was attended by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, representatives of the Belgrade University and Catholic Faculties of Theology from Ljubljana and Zagreb.
The Feast-day of Saint Sava, the first Serbian Archbishop, was celebrated prayerfully in the chapel of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade on 27 January 2017, with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy headed by His Grace Bishop Antonije of Toplica.
After the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy Saint Patron’s cake was blessed.
The celebration continued at the Faculty with the solemn Saint Sava’s academy which was attended by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, Apostolic Nuntio in Belgrade, Arhbishop Stanislav Hocevar of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Belgrade, representatives of the Belgrade University, representatives of the Catholic Faculties of Theology from Ljubljana and Zagreb, deans of other faculties, vice-deans, professors and students. The Faculty Professor Dr. Predrag Puzovic held an introductory speech after which Patriarch Irinej addressed the present and congratulated the Patron’s Saint-day.
Speeches also were held by Mrs. Nada Kovacevic, vice-rector of the Belgrade University; Professor Dr. Mario Cifrak, Dean of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb, and Professor Dr. Robert Petkovsek, Dean of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Ljubljana.
Cultural and art part of the programs was performed by the choir of the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology and Belgrade string quartet “Intermezzo”.
