Catholicose Baselios Paulose II & Patriarch Abune Mathais Consecrates St. Gregorios International Cancer Care Centre

Kerala-India: Catholicose Baselious Paulose II and Patriarch Abune Mathias consecrated St. Gregorious International Cancer Care Centre at Parumala in Kerala. Ethiopian and Indian Orthodox Prelates took part in the consecration ceremony.

St Gregorios Medical Mission Hospital is the parent organization of St Gregorios International Cancer Care Centre. It is owned and controlled by the society of Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Syrian Church, and its Head His Holiness Baselius Marthoma Paulose II, the Catholicose on the Apostolic Throne of St Thomas is also the Metropolitan President.

The St Gregorios Medical Mission at Parumala, since 1975, already possesses clinical facilities, except radiotherapy facility at the center. The full-fledged cancer center has exclusive cancer wards, qualified and experienced personnel, and radiotherapy treatment facilities. The new facility has 17 different departments including palliative care, hospice, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, and others.
