The awards for the school competitions for Aramenian Language and Literature, History, Religious Studies and Songs were presented on Friday 4 June 2010, in the evening at the Cilicia Museum in the presence of the school community and parents.
The representatives of the Jury of the four disciplines presented to the audience the criteria for selection. They appreciated the efforts of the teachers of the four disciplines in Armenian studies, and the parents for their support of the Armenian school.
At the end, His Holiness Aram I who was presiding over the ceremony distributed the awards to 15 boys and girls the winners, and announced the names of 13 students who received recognition. After congratulating the winners, the teachers and the parents, he said: whole civilizations, some with strong armies, have come and gone, but we still exist. Our power lies in our alphabet that we have carried with us in the Diaspora with the determination to keep it in a highly competitive globalized world. It is with this assurance that we shall expand the Catholicosate of Cilicia, Khatchik Babikian Foundation School Competition to other dioceses in the diaspora.
