Catholicos Receives Russian-Malankara Bilateral Commission

Kottayam-Kerala-India: His Holiness Marthoma Paulose II (Catholicos on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas, Malankara Metropolitan, Moopan and Chief Custodian of the Malankara Nazaranieth and the Primate of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church) received the delegation of the joint Working Committee for Bilateral Relations for dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Chruch and the Indian Orthodox Church (Malankara Church).

Members of the Delegation included His Eminence Archbishop Leonid of Vladikavka & Alania, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, Hieromonk Stefan Igumnov, Secretary for inter-Christian relations, Reverend Deacon Dimitry Serov, Executive Secretary of the Commission for student exchange and Mr. Ruslan A. Ahmatkhanov, Executive Staff, Department for External Church Relations.

The Russian Orthodox delegation offered visitation to His Holiness conveying the prayers and love of His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow, and all Russian Orthodox faithful. The delegation thanked God, seeing His Holiness is very well after a slight issue with his health. The Catholicos emphasized the importance of the bilateral talks for both churches, which will have a lasting effect on the Orthodox Church as a whole. His Holiness conveyed his kind greetings and love to His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill, especially for his concern in the recent weeks.

His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan, and President of the Department of Ecumenical Relations for the Malankara Church is facilitating this meeting.
