Catholicos-Patriarch Mar Awa III Express Gratitude to Kurd Leader Masoud Barzani

Kurdistan-Iraq: Catholicos-Patriarch Mar Awa III of the Assyrian Church of the East expressed his gratitude to Masoud Barzani (the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the former President of the Kurdistan region). The Patriarch was received by the Kurdish leader at his office in Erbil on the 14th of September 2021.

During the meeting, the Patriarch expressed his gratitude to the Kurdish strong man for his efforts in fostering national and religious harmony in the region.

Mar Awa was enthroned as Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East on the 13th of September 2021, Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Iraq. In response, Barzani stated that Kurdistan is the homeland of harmony and coexistence.
