Tiblisi-Georgia: His Holiness Ilia II  Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia turned 88 on 4th December 2020. He was born in Vladikavkaz (Ordzhonikidze), in North Ossetia 1933. He was elected the new Catholics-Patriarch of Georgia on December 25, 1977.

Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia has completed 43 years as the head of the Georgian Orthodox Church. The Primate of the Church of Georgia is revered as one of the most respected and trusted public figures in Georgia.
