Catholicos of All Armenians Congratulates President Vladimir Putin

On 19 March, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; sent a congratulatory message to President Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Russian Federation.
“From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we convey our blessings to You, and on behalf of the Supreme Spiritual Council, clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and the faithful, offer congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as President of the Russian Federation.
Your undeniable victory in elections is an evident demonstration of exceptional confidence that the pious people of Russia have in your character and extensive work, as well as your vision for the future development of Russia, vibrancy and wellbeing, and the role of the Russian Federation in the international arena.
…You know the type of respect and love the Armenian people have toward you and Russia: feelings of a centuries-old brotherhood, witnessed by the close ties of today’s Federation, in partnership and cooperation. We are pleased to note the care and attention of the Russian authorities, with your personal involvement, towards the Armenian Diaspora and the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
Our daily prayer is that Almighty God keeps the Russian Federation and her faithful people in peace and prosperity” stated His Holiness.
In his congratulatory message, His Holiness asked God’s graces and support to Russian President in his mission.
This fawning letter to a man who is a killer and a nuclear and biological terrorist, who rigged the election by arranging to kill one opponent and imprisoning another so there was no proper choice for the voters, just brings Holy Orthodoxy into contempt.
Just disgraceful.
