Sofia. “Our Church was established in 301, when the Christianity was declared official religion. From here, we conduct the spiritual guidance of the Armenian nation all over the world,” said Catholicos Karekin II, Head of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church, who met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who is on an official visit to Armenia, FOCUS News Agency envoy reported.

“The last century was hard for our church. Our nation was deported, some 1.5 million Armenians suffered a martyr’s death. West Armenia has become a territory of Turkey,” he commented further.

Catholicos Karekin II wished Boyko Borisov luck in all his deeds. He also presented the Bulgarian prime minister with a book with the journeys to Echmiadzin and a vase, made by Armenian masters.
PM Borisov, on the other hand, offered a girl of a rakia from the Bulgarian Troyan region and brought greetings from the Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim.
