Catholicos Baselios Paulose II & Catholicos Abune Thomas I Appeals for Kerala Flood Victims

Malankara-Kerala: His Holiness Baselios Paulose II (Catholicos on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas and Malankara Metropolitan) and His Beatitude Abune Thomas I (Catholicos and Metropolitan Trustee of the Syriac Orthodox Church in India) have appealed for the support of flood-affected areas in Kerala. The Prelates have appealed for prayers, support and cooperation to help citizens who are in distress.

Malankara (Kerala) is going through one of the worst flooding disasters of recent times. More than 180 people have lost their lives. Many are trapped as well. According to Government reports this is the second worst flood after 1924, where ten out of fourteen districts are severely affected with heavy damage to roads, homes and other infrastructure.

You may donate money to the bank account of the Malankara Orthodox Church. The first bank account is for Indian currency donation and second bank account is for foreign currency donation.

Chers amis.
A la suite d’une première vague d’inondations et, ici, des suites d’une canicule qui a mis nos agriculteurs en grandes difficultés, les pluies diluviènnes ont repris au Kerala, nous annonce un post de notre frère et ami Mor Meletius ainsi que cet article de l’OCP.
Les Pères de l’Eglise au Kerala se sont unis pour appeler à la prière et à la solidarité.
Nous aussi reprenons nos prières pour accompagner dans cette épreuve les fils et filles de l’Inde du Sud (Kerala / Malankar / Malabare) et appeler sur ses fils et filles les bénédictions du Très Haut.
Merci pour vos prières et votre amour compatissant.
Prions pour que l’unanimité du Témoignage Chrétien à l’intérieur des juridictions écclésiales notre Tradition Syriaque s’affermisse afin que des pluies de grâces inondent la Sainte Eglise afin que se manifeste la splendeur à travers un élan missionnaire renouvellé!
Que la Mère de Miséricorde étende sa protection sur ses fils et filles du Kerala, de France, d’Afrique, du Brésil et du Pakistan où nous sommes impantés!

Dear friends.
Following a first wave of floods and here, following a heatwave that put our farmers in great difficulty, the heavy rains resumed in Kerala, announces a post from our brother and friend Mor Meletius and that this article of the OCP.
