Bulgaria Receives St. Andrew’s Relics in Gold Shrine

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presented to Bulgaria the hallows of St. Andrey Pervozvanny (Andrew the First Called). A Bulgarian delegation led by Bulgaria’s minister without portfolio Bozhidar Dimitrov attended the ceremony in Istanbul yesterday. Patriarch Bartholomew presented the precious gift in a golden shrine. The official ceremony took place in the throne hall of the Patriarch’s Palce. Construction entrepreneur Yordan Dinev who is the initiator of the event also attended the ceremony. After the official part of the event, the Ecumenical Patriarch invited the Bulgaria delegation in his personal office. As a sign of gratitude, Prof. Dimitrov presented to Bartholomew the Precepts of St. Kliment Ohridski, while Mr. Dinev’s gift was a portrait of Patriarch Bartholomew.
