Bishops Consecrated in Ukrainian Church
Archimandrite Mykolai (Kapustin) was consecrated as bishop of Kremenchuk and Lubny
On June 19, the Day of All Saints, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy in the square near the Church of All Saints in the construction site of the Resurrection Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Concelebrating to him were: archbishop Metrophanes of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav, Archbishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky and Vyshneve, Archbishop Ephraim of Kryvyy Rih and Nikopol, Archbishop Philip Poltava and Myrhorod, Bishop Hilary of Makarov, Bishop Anthony of Alexandria and Svitlovodsk, Bishop Panteleimon of Vasylkiv and Bishop Dionissius of Shepetivka and Slavuta.
In the course of the worship service the synaxis of bishops consecrated to the episcopacy the deputy abbot of St. Vladimir’s Monastery of Kryvyi Rig Archimandrite Mykolai (Kapustin). According to the decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, held under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine on 14 June 2011, the newly ordained bishop will be titled of “Kremenchug and Lubny” (Journal 45).
After the celebration His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr addressed the bishop ordained with a word of instruction and handed him the bishop’s crosier, then Bishop Nicholas gave the faithful his first episcopal blessing.
Also the Primate welcomed the worshippers on the Day of All Saints and dedication day.
On June 17, in the assembly hall of the Holy Synod of the UOC at the Primate’s residence of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Lavra of Caves, Archimandrite Nicholas was nominated as Bishop of Kremenchuk and Lubny.

Bishop Nicholas (Kapustin), born September 6, 1977 in Sevastopol.
In 1997 he was enlisted to St. Vladimir’s Monastery in Kryvyy Rih. A year later he took monastic vows with the name of Nicholas, in honor of the Holy Hierarch Nicholas of he Myra of Licia . The same year he was ordained hierodeacon, and later hieromonk. He got his theological education at the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary. In 2005, on the decision of the Holy Synod of the UOC he was appointed superior of St Vladimir’s Monastery of Kryvyy Rih. In 2007 he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite. On June 14, 2011 the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church elected him Bishop of Kremenchuk and Lubny.
Monk of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Lavra of Caves became bishop of Shepetivka and Slavuta
On June 18 Metropolitan Volodymyr celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Refectory Church of Kyiv-Caves Monastery.
Concelebrating to him were Metropolitan Anthony of Khmelnytskyy and Starokonstantiniv Anthony, Archbishop: Belotserkovsky and Bohuslav, metal-working and Alexander Vishnevsky, Vinnitsa and Mogilev-Podolsky Simeon, Krivoy Rog and Nikopol Ephraim, Kherson and Tavria John Anthony of Boryspil, bishops and Nijinsky Prilutsky Irina, Vladimir -Volyn Kovel and Vladimir Makarov Hilary, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomiya Panteleimon, Alexandria and Svitlovodsk Anthony Vasylkivsky Panteleimon and Konotop and Glukhiv Joseph.
During the worship service the synaxis of bishops ordained to episcopacy the settler of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Archimandrite Dionysius (Kostantynov). According to the decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, held under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine on 14 June 2011, the newly-consecrated bishop willbe titled “of Shepetivka and Slavuta” (Journal 44).
During the Liturgy Archpastor ordained to the holy priesthood a teacher Kiev Theological Academy, Deacon Ihor Bazarynsky.
After the celebration His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr addressed the ordained bishop with a word of instruction and handed him the bishop’s staff, then, Bishop Dionysius blessed the faithful with a first episcopal blessing.
The day before in the evening at the assembly hall of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church at the Primate’s residence of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Archimandrite Dionysius (Konstantinov) was nominated Bishop Shepetivka and Slavuta.

Bishop Dionysius (Konstantinov Dmitriy) was born on July 7, 1960 in Chadyr-Lunga town (Moldova) in the family of workers. He received the theological education in the Odessa Theological Seminary and the Kiev Theological Academy. In 1995he was ordained to the holy diaconate, and in 1997 to the holy priesthood. In 1996 he was tonsured a monk and named in honor of St. Dionysius, the hermit of the Kyiv Caves. That same year he was appointed head clerk of the Kyiv Metropolis chancellery. On the feast of Easter in 2000 he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite. In 2003 he was dismissed from the office of deputy chancellor of the Kyiv Metropolis and enrolled among the brethren of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The same year he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Synod of the UOC for the monasteries. By the decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of June 14, 2011 he was elected bishop of Shepetivka and Slavuta.
