RARITAN TWP. — The long-awaited opening of St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church took place this morning, Sunday, June 9. The church-opening service of Thryranixia was conducted by Metropolitan Evangelos, spiritual leader of the Middle Atlantic Greek Orthodox parishes.
Shortly before cutting the ribbon, he told the assembled throng, “As long as we continue to open churches, were are shutting down the powers of darkness.”
For the past seven years the congregation shared the Allerton United Methodist Church in Clinton Township, while it saved up for a place of its own.
The new church is on Voorhees Corner Road, not far from J.P. Case Middle School.
