Beatification of Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni discussed by Synod Commission for the Canonization of Saints

The meeting of the Synod Commission for the Beatification of Saints of the Orthodox Church of Moldova was held on the 10th of December. The meeting was presided by His Grace Petru, Bishop of Ungheni and NIsporeni.
The participants presented and discussed materials on the life, service, and missionary, historical, cultural, administrative activity of His Eminence Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni.
Primordial and edifying role of this prominent arch-pastor of the first ecclesiastical structure of Basarabia, his care for the clergy and for the faithful community, and firm and vivid confession of his faith as monastic and hierarch of the Church were discussed.
The commission decided to submit a report to the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, on the beatification of this great hierarch of our Church, who is worthy of being worshiped as saint.
This canonical, cultural, and historical church act will be performed within the 200th anniversary of the creation of Chisinau and Hotin Archdiocese.
