Awqaf Asks Municipality For Detailed List Of Churches, Locations

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Adel Al-Fallah has asked the Kuwait Municipality to submit a detailed list of churches in Kuwait, their location and the number of land areas allocated for each church, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources clarified this came after disagreements on the stipulations of Article Two, which allows non-Muslims to build worship places in the country in line with the freedom to practice one’s religious as guaranteed by the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Road Affairs at the Ministry of Public Works Eng Saoud Abdulaziz Al-Naqi called on the Municipality to provide the ministry with the blueprints of the parking area for the Egyptian Coptic Church in Hawally.
