Armenian Pontiff Receives Ambassador of Greece

Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – July 2016

On July 8, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Ioannis Tais, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Greece to Armenia.

The Catholicos of All Armenians, bidding farewell to the Ambassador who was completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, noted with satisfaction the sincere service of Mr. Ioannis, in strengthening the relations between the two friendly nations, and highlighted the always kind attitude shown towards the Armenian Church.

Conveying his Pontifical blessings to the Ambassador, His Holiness wished him many years of a healthy life and success in his future service.

Expressing his gratitude for the attention given by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and personally by His Holiness during the passing years, Ambassador Tais stated that during his tenure he participated in the most important events organized by the Armenian Church with great love and respect.

During the meeting, they reflected on the existing relations and cooperation between the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and Greek Orthodox Churches.

The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovahnnisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department.
