Armenian Church opened in Budenovsk

On June 30, Head of the southern Russian diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Armen Movsisyan sanctified the Holy Ascension Church in Budenovsk.
The city was founded by Armenians in 1799 as Surb Khach. There were three Armenian churches there, which were pulled down in the Soviet time.
The foundation of the new church was laid five years ago. The local Armenian community sponsored the construction, the press service of the Holy Echmiadzin reports.
