Armenian Church blessed Army spiritual leadership Flag

ECHMIADZIN. – Holy See of Echmiadzin on Friday held blessing ceremony of the flag of spiritual leadership of the Armenian Armed Forces by Armenian Catholicos Karekin II.
Representatives of Holy See and Great House of Cilicia, Armenian Deputy MOD Vladimir Gasparyan, other high-ranking MOD officials and military servicemen, spiritual representatives of Armenian Armed Forces, headed by the spiritual leader of the Army T. Vrtanes Archbishop Abrahamyan and other pilgrims participated in the ceremony, press service of the Holy See informs Armenian News-News.am.
“Many spiritual servicemen serve in the Army with the conscious that army is powerful and victorious if there is God in the hearts. Thus, we read the following statement on the flag, “Blessed is our way as God is with us,” Karekin II stated in his speech.
Afterwards the flag was blessed. The same way was blessed the flag of Armenian volunteer detachments at the beginning of 19th century. One side of the flag has cross on it, elaborated with garnets and pearls, with the note Spiritual Leadership of Armenian Armed Forces. The second side has the emblem “Blessed is our way as God is with us.”
