Armenia’s 1988 earthquake is remembered in Tbilisi

TBILISI. – A requiem mass, in memory of the innocent victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Armenia on December 7, 1988, was conducted on Wednesday at St. Etchmiadzin Armenian Church of the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
The mass was attended by the relatives of the quake victims, Armenian Embassy staff, Georgian President’s advisor Van Bayburtyan, MP Armen Bayanduryan, Georgian-Armenian intellectuals, and the faithful.
Also, Georgia’s Security Council Deputy Secretary Tamar Kintsurashvili, and Reintegration Deputy Minister Zviad Zviadauri paid their respects to the memory of the earthquake victims.
On the same day, a concert-presentation was held at Tbilisi’s Small Conservatory Hall, during which renowned Armenian composers’ works were also performed.
