Archbishop Vsevolod Chaplin: Russia is the best part of today’s Europe
Moscow, April 8, Interfax – Head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin said that today’s Russia was the best past of Europe.
“We are a part of Europe, we are the best part of Europe and we offer the future, the best future,” he said in an interview to Poyedinok, a TV show by Vladimir Solovyov on Rossiya-1 TV.
He also mentioned that the Western countries, including the USA, can be hardly called Christian countries from the social and political viewpoint.
“The Christian social model has no relation to the modern Western world. The West is now that same godless system which has collapsed as communism, it has collapsed as Nazism and it will collapse as capitalism,” Father Vsevolod said.
He expressed an opinion that no society could “live without morals”.
“Russia has no future without conscience, morals and normal human relations and without faith. Atheists may think otherwise, but to my mind, we need to move forward together and create good future for us all,” he urged.
