Archbishop Vicken Aykazian appointed to US Presidential Task Force on Inter-Religious Dialogue

On May 14, His Eminence Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Legate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, and President of the National Council of Churches (NCC), was appointed to the Inter-religious Dialogue and Cooperation Task Force of President Obama’s Advisory Council.

The Inter-Religious Taskforce consists of approximately 12 distinguished leaders in the religious and ecumenical field, who discuss issues of importance to the president during a bi-weekly teleconference.
Over the past several months, Archbishop Aykazian has been involved in many discussions with members of the President’s Advisory Council with regard to peace in the Middle East and other topics of concern to churches.

I am nobody. But I strongly oppose to the content of what is written in the article. Is Pope doing the right thing by not mixing with the common people? Christ went to the poor and the downtrodden. Christ’s desciples went around the world and baptized everyone and led a great life by mixing with the common people. Catholicose is a priest who is a servant of his folks – He must conduct weddings, baptizms and everything of that sort – He must never be a hipo

I want my sheppard – the Catholicose – an ordinary priest who is involved in conducting weddings, Baptizm and anything of that sork. He must be a desciple of Christ. He must do whatever the desciples did. He must set good examples to the world. If Christ comes to the world today, do you think that he will refuse conduct a Baptizm/ a wedding? Catholicose must never be a Hipocrit like Paresees and Saduchees in the bible. When there is opportunity to conduct a marriage, he must do so. Pope is not living the life of a True Christine. He is living in a mansion which Christ or His desciples never did. Extend the Christine Love to the mankind in all the ways is the primary responsibility of Catholicose. I believe in it.

On vestments i would like to say we need to continue our custom or rather an understanding collectively with 5 other Oriental Orthodox Bodies.. Patriarch of Antioch, Patriarch of Alexandria are wearing the same vestments as ours. Apart from those two leaders of Oriental orthodox, Patriarch of Eritrea also has the same vestment. The only major change in dress code is that of Patriarch of Ethiopia.,, I still don’t know how that change occurred ?? After all that patriarchate is just 52 years old… Armenian Catholicos vestment resembles ours only except the headwear. I also have concerns on how a white headwear came into being for certain bishops in Alexandria..
Therefore, what I suggest is that,, there need to be an understanding among the oriental Churches all together.

And more to the people of OBL… please don’t make me and others confused by showing photos of leaders of other churches in this article…
