Anglican Church in Wales Vote to Bless Same-Sex Marriages
OCP News Service – 8/9/21
Wales-UK: In a historic move, the Anglican Church in Wales have voted to bless same-sex marriage. This move puts the Church in Wales in opposition with the Church of England, which forbid its clergy from blessing same sex union.
The new step is part of the repentance of the attitude in the Church that has demonised and persecuted LGBT people, according to a report by the guardian. Gregory Cameron, the bishop of diocese of St Asaph, stated that the decision was indeed a huge step forward for the church and for all of them in Wales.
General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches, Quakers and the United Reformed Church are some of the Christian communities in UK that bless same-sex union.
