Anchiskhati Icon Visits Churches and Monasteries in Kiev

Anchiskhati icon accompanied by clergy and pilgrims visited churches and monasteries in Kiev after Jerusalem and historical Constantinople.

Georgian and local clergy together with singers group “Sakhioba” has taken Anchiskhati icon around St. Sophia church for the first time since 1930 when it was closed down by the communists. The clergy served praying there.

There was shown a movie “Love Defeat Devil!” by Zaza Nanobashvili at churches and monasteries in Kiev.

The icon attended first liturgy in Georgian, and then was moved from church to church throughout Kiev. The icon visited Kiev-Pechora, Vedinsk, and Jonah monasteries. Praying books and Christian movies were gifted to the parish there. After returning back to Tbilisi from Kiev the icon was put in front of the Art Museum where the original icon is kept.
