An Orthodox Priest attacked in Bohum
On Sunday, 18 October 2009, three unknown persons attacked Rev. Alexy Rybakov in Bohum, Germany. He is a clergyman of the stavropegic parish of the Intercession of the Mother of God at the permanent representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Germany.
The priest was going home after the Divine service that he celebrated in Dusseldorf, when the unknown persons blocked him the entrance to the house where he lives with his wife and two children. Rev. Alexy was in his cassock, holding a suitcase with the Holy Gifts. The attackers abused the priest; one of them spat in his face and punched him in the chest several times. When Rev. Alexy dialed police on his cell-phone, the attackers ran away.
