Ambassador for Greek in Syria Her Excellency Tasia Otnacio visits His Holiness The Patriarch

MA`ARAT SAYYIDNAYA, DAMASCUS: Greek Ambassador to Syria, Her Excellency Ms. Tasia Otnacio visited Patriarch His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas at St. Ephraim Patriarchal Monastery here on Friday. Her Excellency took the charge of the Greek embassy recently. The meeting was a landmark in the development of the community as Her Excellency expressed her desire to avail the educational scholarships offered by the Government of Greece for the monks and nuns, to all the students from the Syriac Orthodox Church.

This meeting also will flourish the relation between Syriac Orthodox Church and Greek Orthodox Church and will help in the dialogue going on between the two Orthodox Churches. Her Excellency offered all the support in this matter too. His Holiness gifted Ms. Otnacio, some of the books from H.H’s collection describing the Syriac Orthodox Church, its culture, theology, tradition and history.
