Agreement on cooperation between Sergiev Posad and Etchmiadzin is signed during His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s visit to Armenia

On 16 March 2010, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and proceeded to the Patriarchal resident in Etchmiadzin where an official ceremony of welcoming His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia took place at the Throne Hall.
The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II introduced the bishops of the Armenian Apostolic Church to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, and His Holiness introduced members of the Russian Orthodox Church delegation.
The agreement on cooperation between Etchmiadzin and Sergiev Posad was signed. The declaration on friendship and cooperation between the cities, which house the spiritual centers of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Russian Orthodox Church was signed by Mayors K. Grigorian and N. Maslov. Mayor Grigorian said that “the document will be an extra impetus to the great friendship between the two nations and states.”
K. Grigorian presented His Holiness Patriarch Kirill with a small shrine for incense; N. Maslov made a present of a picture of the Laura of the Holy Trinity to the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia reports.
