On the eve of celebration of the Baptism of Rus two Patriarchs will meet in Kyiv – His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, who arrives on a visit to Ukraine on July 25, 2011, and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill (arrives to Kyiv on July 27 2011).
On July 27, the commemoration of the Holy and Equal-to-the Apostles Prince Vladimir, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Patriarch His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II and Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine will perform a prayer service at the monument to St Vladimir the Baptiser of Rus at St Vladimir’s Mount.
Attending the celebration will be the members of the Holy Synod, church hierarchs and clergy from Ukraine, Russia and Georgia, the laity. Also on this day in Kyiv Caves Monastery the regular meeting of the Holy Synod of the ROC will be held.
July 28, the day celebrating the Baptism of Russia, at the Cathedral Square of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will be sent festive Divine Liturgy.
