A protocol on cooperation between the Kyiv Theological Academy and the University of Fribourg signed (Switzerland)

On November 14 in the rectorate of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), an official meeting of the rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy, Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil (Pakanych) Rector of the University of Guido Verhauven took place.
From the Kyiv Theological Academy the meeting was attended by vice-rector for scientific and theological work Associate Professor Volodymyr Bureha, secretary of the Academic Council Archpriest Volodymyr Kotsaba, hegumen and teacher Silvestre (Stoychev). On behalf of the University of Fribourg the meeting was attended by Professor Barbara Hallensleben.
The sides discussed prospects of cooperation. Possible areas were considered: exchange of students by teachers, exchange of experience in the field of modern teaching techniques, conducting joint scientific symposia, conferences and seminars, implementation of joint publishing projects, exchange of scientific, educational and other materials of mutual interest.
The parties also agreed on preparation and signing in future of a more detailed agreement on cooperation. A draft contract is submitted to the authorized representatives of the parties. On behalf of the University of Fribourg the representative appointed was Professor Barbara Hallensleben. On behalf of the Kyiv Theological Academy – vice-rector for theological academic work and associate professor Volodymyr Bureha.
The assembly expressed hope that cooperation between the University of Fribourg and the Kyiv Theological Academy will serve to strengthen the friendly relations between theological education centers in different countries and will contribute to the case of Christian witness in today’s world.
After the talks, Archbishop Anthony offered as a gift of the University of Fribourg a picture depicting the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and the publications of the Kyiv Theological Academy.
On November 15, after the meeting that took place recently, Archbishop Antony and Rector of the University Fribourg Guido Verhauven signed a letter of intentions on regular cooperation.
