A Monument to St. Sergius of Radonezh Will be Erected in the Crimea

The St. Sergius of Radonezh Fund, a part of the Russian Historical Society, plans to erect a monument to St. Sergius.
Sergei Naryshkin, Speaker of the State Duma, who is also the chairman of the Russian Historical Society, announced plans to erect a monument to St. Sergius in the Crimea, the news portal Interfax-Religion reported.
“The St. Sergius of Radonezh Fund, part of the Russian Historical Society, plans to erect here in the Crimea, if it is allowed, a monument to Sergius of Radonezh, especially since this is a jubilee year: the 700th anniversary of St. Sergius of Radonezh,” Naryshkin related this Saturday at a meeting with members of the State Council of the Crimea.
Monuments in honor of the 700th anniversary of St. Sergius will also be established in the cities of Minsk and Mineralnye Vody.
