CATHOLICOS ARAM I DECORATES THE COUPLE ALECCO AND ANNIE BEZIKIAN, BENEFACTORS OF THE SEMINARY WITH THE INSIGNIA OF “CILICIAN PRINCE”
On Wednesday 20 June 2012, His Holiness Aram I presided over the 82nd graduation ceremony held at the seminary in Bikfaya, Lebanon.
During the ceremony, seminarians read texts from the Bible, prayers from St. Gregory of Nareg, and 10th century mystic, philosopher and theologian, and the choir sang spiritual hymns.
The newly ordained priest Rev. Dajad Ashekian spoke on behalf of the students.
In his report, the Dean, Archbishop Nareg Alemezian, read the annual report and announced the creation of an Alumni Association for all former Seminary students. He then invited His Holiness Aram I to distribute the diplomas.
In his message, Catholicos Aram I said that the Seminary is the heart of the Catholicosate of Cilicia; its graduates serve the Armenian people as apostles inspiring Gospel values of spirituality, love and justice.
He then thanked the benefactors of the Seminary, particularly Alecco and Annie Bezikian, who have faithfully supported the seminary and recently created a one million dollar endowment fund. In recognition of their commitment to the seminary, His Holiness decorated them with the insignia of “Cilician Prince”.
