Ambassador Of Jordan On A Visit To The Romanian Patriarchate
The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:
On 24 November 2010, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, received His Excellency Mr. Rasem Yacoub Hashem, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Bucharest, at the Patriarchal Residence.
The Ambassador appreciated the important role that the religious cults play in the promotion of the inter-religious dialogue and of peace among peoples and reiterated the desire of the Jordanian authorities to invite the Patriarch of Romania to visit the holy places of Jordan.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel thanked for the initiative, so that the suitable dates should be established for a visit to Jordan and some other countries of the Middle East.
The Patriarch of Romania mentioned the liturgical support that the Romanian Patriarchate provides to the Orthodox Arabian speaking community of Bucharest served by a clergyman of the Patriarchate of Antioch. At the same time, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel expressed the desire of the Romanian Patriarchate to increase the number of the pilgrimages to Jordan.
The fact that many of the Jordanian young men who studied in Romania hold important dignities in today’s Jordanian society, contributing to the promotion of the good relations between the two countries, was also mentioned during the meeting.
