His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr presided at the festivities on the commemoration of the Synaxis of the Svyatogorsk Saints

On September 24 the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church presided over вthe festivities in the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra on the occasion of the Synaxis ofd the Svyatogorsk Saints. 17 ascetics of piety, who performed ascetic feats, were glorified in 2008 according to the decision of the Holy Synod of the UOC.
Concelebrating to His Beatitude were Metropolitan Iriney of Pavlohrad and Dnipropetrovsk, Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol, Archbishop Onuphry of Izium, Archbishop Luke of Konotop and Glukhiv, Bishop Agapit of Severodonetsk and Starobelsk, Bishop Arseny of Svyatogorsk (the monastery abbot), Bishop Metrophanes of Horlivka and Slovyansk, Bishop Varnava of Makiyivka, Bishop Yelisey of Berdyansk and Prymorsk, Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy (secretary for the UOC Primate), Bishop Volodymyr of Rovenky.
At the Divine service the primate addressed the flock with a word of admonition, in which he called the faithful to follow the feat of the Most Holy Virgin Mary and to recourse to her intercession in all the life situations.
After the prayer service the sacred procession around the Holy Dormition Monastery was held. Addressing the worshippers, the Archpastor remarked: “Christ said, that where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Today many people gathered here, and it means that the Lord is among us”.
