New Academic Year Begins at the Polish Orthodox Seminary in Warsaw

Warsaw-Poland: The new academic year (2021/2022) was launched at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw on the 14th of September 2021. The celebrations began with an all-night vigil. Liturgy was served by Metropolitan Sawa.
“Young people, have come to the seminary to take the Cross of Christ on your back. It is your task to bring this Cross to the very end. Only then will you be able to call yourselves Orthodox Christians” State Metropolitan Sawa in his sermon. Professors, students and the faithful took part in the service.
The Seminary was established by Metropolitan Dionysius of Warsaw after the end of World War II by the name ‘Private Study of Orthodox Theology at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Warsaw’. In 1998 the institution was granted the right to confer the bachelor degree in Orthodox theology in accordance with the agreement between the Polish government and the Church.
