Nicosia- Cyprus: The annual memorial service was held in the memory of late lamented Archbishop and President Makarios III of Cyprus, as well as for the heroes of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, Giannakis Pappoullis and Christakis Pieris Christou, who fell fighting the Turkish invaders in the summer of 1974. Their lives to defend the territorial integrity of our island from the hordes of the armored Turkish army.

The memorial service was presided by Bishop Gregory of Mesaoria at the Holy Temple of Panagia in Ayia Napa on the 6th of August 2021.

After the end of the memorial service, George Constantinou the Director of the Ayia Napa School delivered the memorial speech.
