Liturgical Committee Convened in the Mother See

A Liturgical Committee has been established with the blessings and high order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. The committee is comprised of representatives from the Catholicosate of All Armenians, the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople. The first meeting of the committee was convened on August 16-17, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The goal of the Liturgical Committee of the Armenian Church is directed at strengthening the basic functions of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church, by addressing the challenges of reformation of liturgical services.
The members of Liturgical Committee are:

Very Rev. Fr. Vahan Hovhanessian.
The committee discussed at length, the issue of preparation of uniform text for the sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation. It was decided to use as a basis for their work both the ancient liturgical Baptism and Chrismation texts as well as texts that are in modern usage.
