The Primate of Malankara Nasranis Catholicos-Mooppan Marthoma Paulose II Enters Eternal Rest

Malankara-Kerala-India: His Holiness  Marthoma Paulose II (Catholicos-Mooppan on the Apostolic Throne of St.Thomas, Malankara Metropolitan, Chief Custodian of the Malankara Nazaranieth and the Primate of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church) entered eternal rest on the 12th of July 2021.

He was recently put on ventilator support amid a worsening health situation. The Primate of the Malankara Church was undergoing treatment for cancer at the St Gregorious Hospital, Parumala since January 2020.

The late Primate will be laid to rest on Tuesday 13th of July 2021 at the Catholicate Palace.

Brief Bio
Marthoma Paulose II was born on 30 August 1946. He was enthroned as the Catholicos-Moopan and Malankara Metropolitan on 1 November 2010, at the St. Paul’s and St. Peter’s Church, Parumala succeeding His Holiness Marthoma Didymos I.
