OCP News Service – 1/12/2020
Kyiv-Ukraine: A protest was held by a group of people against Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople on the 26th of November 2020. The protesters shouted several slogans against Patriarch Bartholomew for interfering in the affairs of the Church in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) commented that the event was not organized by the Church.
The protest was held in the light of the recent letter in which Patriarch Bartholomew stated that the Primate and Bishops of UOC-MP are not canonical Prelates of Ukraine and the Ecumenical Patriarchate only temporarily tolerates the existence of these Bishops.
