DECR chairman meets with Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw and All Poland

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, met with His Beatitude Sava, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, during his visit to Warsaw on 23 June 2010. The Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church gave dinner in honour of his guest.
Metropolitan Sava warmly welcomed the high-ranking representative of the Russian Orthodox Church and expressed to him wishes of success of his mission to the Polish land.
Metropolitan Hilarion told him about the visit of His Holiness Bartholomew, Patriarch of Constantinople, to the Moscow Patriarchate last May and shared news about theological education in the Russian Church.
They also discussed the basic parameters of a document on the reconciliation of the Russian and Polish peoples as well as relations between the two Churches including their participation in the work of the Inter-Orthodox Preparatory Commission.
Metropolitan Hilarion handed over to His Beatitude a part of the relics of Confessor Parasceva and presented him with a copy of his book about Patriarch Kirill entitled “Patriarch Kirill: Life and Worldview”.
