Catholicos-Maphrian Abune Thomas I Resigns from the ‘Metropolitan Trustee’ Post

Malankara/Kerala-India: His Beatitude Abune Thomas I Catholics of India, and Maphrian has resigned from the post of Metropolitan Trustee. Abune Thomas I is the primate of the Syriac Orthodox Church in India, which is a dependent Church of the Syriac Patriarchate of Antioch and All-East. His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II – Patriarch of Antioch and All-East has accepted the resignation.

Abune Thomas I will continue to hold the designation of the Catholicos and Chief Metropolitan of the Angamaly diocese.
