Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Execution of the Holy Romanov Family takes place in Russia

Moscow-Russia: July 17th of 2018 marks the 100th Anniversary (July 1918- July 2018) of the execution of St. Tsar Nicholas II and his family (the Romanovs). St. Tsar Nicholas II was the last ruler of Russia. He and his family were brutally murdered by the Soviets in the Ipatiev House at Yekaterinburg on 17th July 1918.
The Orthodox Church of All Saints (Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land) is built on the spot of Ipatiev House in the memory of the holy Romanov family. The Russian Orthodox Church has formally canonized the Romanov family as Passion-Bearers.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, His Holiness Kirill – Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia served Divine Liturgy in the memory of the holy Romanovs of Russia in Yekaterinburg. Orthodox Prelates, Clergy, various dignitaries and thousands of Orthodox faithful took part in the ceremony.

In further developments, the New DNA tests on bones of Russia’s Romnovas have confirmed the authenticity of the remains. The test was conducted as part of the doubts expressed by the Russian Orthodox Church. Results of the new DNA test may result in a full burial of the remains.
