Moscow- Russia: His Holiness Abune Mathias – (Sixth Patriarch and Catholicos of Ethiopia, Archbishop of Axum and Ichege of the See of Saint Taklehaimanot) has arrived in Russia for a 6-day official visit by the invitation of Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Ethiopian Orthodox delegation consist of Archbishop of West Harerge Diocese, Abune Philipos, Bishop of South Omo Diocese, Abune Aregawi, Bishop of South Gonder Diocese, Melake Genet Abba Kidane Mariam, personal assistant to His Holiness Abune Mathias I, Melake Selam Abba Kiross Weldeab, head of the Media Service, and Musie Hailu, head of the Service of the Patriarchal Protocol.
The Patriarch and the Ethiopian Orthodox delegation was received by Metropolitan Hilarion -Chairman of the Dept. External Church Relations.
