Orthodoxy will save Georgia, Georgian Patriarch Ilia II said in his Sunday sermon at Trinity Cathedral.
‘The main value of our nation is Orthodoxy, which will save Georgia,’ the patriarch said.
He also talked about his visit to the Czech Republic. ‘I was surprised at the lack of belief of the Czech people. They used to be believers, though the communist regime devastated belief there,’ Ilia said.
The patriarch also talked about Georgia. ‘Like God, the motherland is one. May God bless my country and my people, who were, are and will be Orthodox,’ Ilia ll said.
