Archbishop Mor Gregorios Youhanna Ibrahim visits the Dr. Nidal Shehadeh, President of University of Aleppo

ALEPPO, SYRIA: Archbishop Dr. Mor Gregorios Youhanna Ibrahim visited the new President of University of Aleppo, Dr. Nidal Shehadeh on April 14, Wednesday at his chamber at the University Campus here. Dr. Elias Shamao, Vice Chairman of Milli Majlis in St. Ephraim’s Syrian Orthodox Cathedral accompanied Archbishop. Dr. Gregorios wished Dr. Shehadeh on behalf of Syriac Orthodox Church.
The visit will surely be a landmark in the educational relation between the Syriac Orthodox Church and the University, said Dr. Gregorios. Hon. President of Syria, His Excellency Dr. Bashar Al Assad appointed Dr. Nidal Shehadeh as the new President of the University earlier this year and he is succeeding Dr. Mohammed Nizar Akil. Dr. Shehadeh holds a PhD in Civil Engineering to his credit. University of Aleppo, established in AD 1958, is the second largest university in Syria, after University of Damascus.
