350th Anniversary of the first Printed Armenian Bible

On November the 13th an exhibition was festively opened in Amsterdam, dedicated to 350th anniversary of the first printed Armenian Bible, printed by Voskan Yerevantsi.
The exhibition is part of the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam, in cooperation with the St. Krikor Narekatsi School and the Armenian Apostolic Church Surp Hoki in Amsterdam.
The exhibition shows the 350 year old Armenian Bible, as well as some rare Armenian books.
On the opening, a special souvenir sheet with stamp was cancelled, showing an illustration of the Creation of the World from the book of Genesis in the aforementioned Bible.
Present at the opening were the Ambassador of Armenia in the Netherlands His Excellency Dzyunik Aghajanyan, Member of the Christian Party in the Dutch Parliament Mr. Joel Voordewind, the president of the board of the University of Amsterdam, prof. dr. Geert ten Dam, the Vicar of the Patriarchal Delegate of Western Europe in the Netherlands, Hayr Sourb Aren Shahinian, the director of Saint Grigor Narekatsi School Mr. Vahan Avagyan , the Chief Executive Officer of HayPost, as well as many faithfull of the Armenian community in the Netherlands.
Digital copies of rare Armenian books were handed to the director of the National Library of Armenia, and letters of congratulations from His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II as well as His Excellency Serzh Sargsyan the President of the Republic of Armenia were read.
