Serbian Patriarch visited the Greek College of Saint Andrew the First-Called

The delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church led by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, visited the Greek Orthodox Theological College “Saint Andrew the First-called” in Sidney on 11 March 2016.
In the church dedicated to the feast-day of the Annunciation, the high guest from Serbia was welcomed by pious Greek people. The host of the meeting was His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Stilianos of Australia and His Grace Bishop Seraphimos of Apollonia, who cordially welcomed brothers in Christ from Serbia.
His Holiness held a lecture on the role of the Church in the world and on Orthodox facing with modern challenges, which are set, without exception, before each individual, a believing and unbelieving, as well as on the prospects for future generations of the Orthodox around the world who are threatened and persecuted.
After the lecture, photo session and welcome of the youngest students of this college followed. Later on, there was a friendly and informal discussion among the hierarchs as well as an agape feast.
In the afternoon, the delegation and the hosts visited the construction site of the Saint Sava College in Warriewood, where the Patriarch had an opportunity to get to know with the current work and plans for their completion in near future. He also wanted to know when it would start its mission in educating young generations.
The church of Saint Nicholas in Blacktown was visited by the delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the evening, where the doxology was solemnly celebrated and the slava cake of the Serbian Orthodox Youth Association SOYA was blessed on the occasion of their patron saint-day (slava) – Saint Nicholas of Zica.
