Syriac Orthodox Church of Brazil– February 2016

Brazil: On January 31, in the city of São Lui in Maranhão, Brazil, deacon Pablo Neves ( 30 years old and married) was ordained to holy priesthood. He is one of the founders of the Community of St. Ephrem.  Fr Pablo Neves is a university professor specialised in Theology and Industrial Design.

The ceremony was presided over by Metropolitan  Mor Titos Paulo Tuza and Metropolitan Mor Jose Faustino Filho. They were assisted by 15 priests, and several deacons. Several seminarians, families, friends and local community members attended the consecration ceremony.

Representatives of the Roman Catholic and Lutheran Church were also present for the event.

Abouna Pablo Neves will be responsible for the St. Ephrem Syriac Orthodox Parish, serving the entire city of San Luis and affiliated area.
