HIS HOLINESS ARAM I BEGINS HIS ANNUAL MEETINGS WITH THE RESIDENTS OF ARMENIAN SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN LEBANON
December 2015
His Holiness Aram I invites the Children, Teachers, Personnel, Board Members and the Kayanian Sisters to Anetelias.
23 December 2015. On Wednesday, unlike other years when he visited the children and all the members of the institution, His Holiness Aram I received them at the Catholicosate in Antelias.
The children presented a programme with songs and poetry, and then joyfully welcomed Santa Claus, who distributed his gifts. After lunch, which was attended by the Catholicos, the clergy, the staff and the children, His Holiness addressed the children and blessed them and all the staff.
The Birds Nest institution was established in 1926 by Danish Missionaries, who had brought the orphan survivors of the Genocide to Lebanon. In 2015, the Catholicos created the Armenian Genocide Orphans “Aram Bezikian” Museum to honour the memory of all the orphans, many of whom became the nucleus of the post-Genocide Armenian Diaspora.
