Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II to attend the First Ever Syriac Orthodox Day in Germany

7/5/15

Germany: From May 15-17, the Syriac Orthodox Church in Germany under the direction of His Eminence Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis and the chairman of the diocesan council Dr. Scharbil Raid Gharib will be holding the first Syriac Orthodox church day in German history.  At this event, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II will show presence and bless the people with his attendance.

The event offers a wide range of lectures, presentations and exhibitions about various topics such as the far reaching history, appreciable personalities and sacred faith of the Syriac Orthodox Church. Surrounded and highlighted by the two main occasions, we are excited for the welcoming ceremony of His Holiness on Friday, May 15 and the closing service on Sunday, May 17.

Many volunteers help to organize and prepare this event to create an unforgettable occasion for its people. During their first general rehearsal in April, they also recorded a video message welcoming the Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Germany.
