Georgian Patriarch Prays for Peace in the Donbass

Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol addressed the Patriarch of All Georgia, requesting prayers for internally displaced persons, refugees and victims of the attacks on civilians.
PRAVMIR. On August 31, a telephone conversation between the Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church and the ruling bishop of the Donetsk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took place.
His Holiness and Beatitude the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi Ilya was interested in the Church’s state of affairs in the Donetsk diocese, on the territory of which military operations are currently taking place, relates Orthodox Donbass.

In turn, the Georgian Patriarch assured Metropolitan Ilarion of brotherly support and prayers for peace on the Donetsk land.
