First Kyiv Deans’ Assembly of This Year Held

On January 11, at the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr the first Kyiv deans’ assembly in this year was conducted.
The event was presided over by chairman of the Secretary of the Kyiv Metropolis archpriest Vitaliy Kosovskyy; among those present also were Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis Bishop Panteleimon of Vasylkiv and head of the parish council of the Resurrection Cathedral archpriest George Kovalenko.
As the site of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC informs, the chief issue was the planned collection of donations for the construction of the Resurrection Cathedral in Kyiv and the reporting on the use of these costs in 2009.
Also the question of tailoring the standard vestments for the Kyiv clergy – for taking part in sacred processions, meeting the honorable relics and other mass action of diocesan and all-church level.
For that purpose the heads of the golden seam manufactory of Kyiv Holy Ascension St. Florus Convent, who agreed to complete that order.
It was also referred to the celebrations of the orthodox Cheese Fare Week this year. In 2010 the Lent begins on February 15, therefore conducting the Cheese Fare Week festivities in the territory of the construction site of Resurrection Cathedral was scheduled on February 7, and on February 13 in the public garden near St. Elias Church in Kyiv.
